Making Mathematical Connections with Hands-On Materials: WA, 16th May North Harrisdale Primary School

May 16 @ 8:30 am - 3:00 pm

$60.00 – $265.00

Have you ever wished that maths made more sense, either for yourself or for your kids?

Have you wanted to incorporate more hands-on materials and group work, or differentiate more effectively?

The wait is over!

Come along and use hands-on materials and games to explore how concepts are connected. Leave feeling more confident in your own understanding, and in your ability to help kids to really “get” maths. This course is suitable for both teachers and for education assistants.

Together we will:

  • Explore concepts using hands-on materials and drawing
  • Examine student work samples and find misconceptions
  • Unpack and play simple games to help build skills
  • Explore a system for using group work for differentiation
  • Answer your real, honest questions, about any areas of maths that you find tricky

You will be provided with more than 60 different games and tasks to use the next day, including:

  • Game templates and instructions
  • Our card sets, complete with instructions
  • Templates for placemats for fluency tasks with instructions

You will also take home:

  • Some hands-on materials to get you started
  • Questions to use with students to find out where they are stuck
